Sports Rehabilitation
Not all Physical Therapy clinics are built to rehab athletes and help them return to their sport. Injuries are bound to happen when you play the game hard, give it your all, and push your boundaries with training. You need a Physical Therapist in your corner who understands your goals and will help push you to reach them. They also need access to the space and equipment to help you prepare for your sports demands. Sports rehab should look and feel different and if it doesn’t, you’re in the wrong place. Peak 3 will help you bridge the gap between rehab and performance and help you return from injury better than you were before.
Blood Flow Restriction
Blood Flow Restriction training, or BFR, is a rehabilitation technique that temporarily restricts the return of blood to the heart during exercise. This technique forces the occluded muscles to work harder under less stressful conditions. BFR has many benefits including reducing muscle atrophy, speeding up recovery, and facilitating strength gains. It can be an instrumental tool in the rehab plan, by allowing you to continue to train when you are dealing with pain or in an early stage of recovering from injury or surgery. Call us today if you have questions about implementing BFR in your rehab plan.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a treatment strategy utilized by Physical Therapists where thin monofilament needles are inserted into muscle, fascia, tendon, ligaments, or around neural tissue. It can often help an individual return to their prior level of function more quickly. The results of dry needling can often be seen immediately, between 0-72 hours, with significant improvements in range of motion, function, and pain. This treatment often utilized to treat acute and chronic muscle/tendon strains, neck and back aches/tightness, headaches, achilles pain, and more.
Movement Screening
We utilize extensive movement screens and needs analyses to understand where you have deficits and weaknesses, and make a focused training plan specific to your needs and sport. This services is part of every evaluation and session that you have.
Corrective Exercise
Any exercise can be considered a “corrective” exercise when done within the correct context and intent. At Peak 3, we will evaluate the root cause of your symptoms and design a comprehensive exercise program to address any issues we see. Most sessions will include exercises progressions as we work towards the goals set forth through the evaluation process.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapies include spinal manipulation, soft tissue mobilization/massage, static and dynamic cupping, IASTM/scraping with Hawk Grips tools, and taping. These are hands-on treatment to reduce your pain and help you move better.
